Paired Monoclonal Antibodies Against Chikungunya Virus E1 Protein (A226V Mutation)

Chikungunya fever is an acute zoonotic viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes and caused by Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), which belongs to the genus Alphavirus of the family Togaviridae. The E1 glycoprotein encoded by the viral genome has been identified as a diagnostic target of the virus. The CHIKV genome is prone to mutations. In particular, the E1-A226V mutation markedly improves the virus’s adaptability to mosquito vectors and pathogenicity, rendering the virus more susceptible to infect Aedes albopictus. Mutant strains carrying this substitution have been detected in India, Southeast Asia, as well as Zhejiang and Yunnan Provinces of China, and have become the dominant epidemic strains worldwide.

Details

Nanjing Mighty Biotechnology Co., Ltd. specially supplies paired mouse monoclonal antibodies targeting CHIKV E1 protein carrying the A226V mutation. Mice were immunized with eukaryotically expressed recombinant A226V-mutant E1 protein, followed by the generation and screening of multiple matched monoclonal antibody pairs specific to this protein. The detection sensitivity reaches 0.5–1.0 ng/mL. No cross-reactivity is observed with other arboviruses including Zika virus, dengue virus and yellow fever virus. These antibody pairs are applicable to the development of ELISA and immunochromatographic test kits.
