Paired Monoclonal Antibodies for Chicken Ovalbumin
Chicken ovalbumin (OVA) is the main protein component of egg white, accounting for 54%-69% of the total egg white protein. OVA is a typical globulin with a molecular weight of 44.5 kDa, belonging to the phosphoglycoprotein family, containing four free sulfhydryl groups and 385 amino acid residues. OVA is a major allergen causing egg allergies in humans. Some viral vaccines, such as influenza and yellow fever vaccines, use chicken embryos as a culture medium; therefore, monitoring the residual OVA level in these vaccines has become an essential testing item in the production process.
This project team prepared monoclonal antibodies by immunizing mice with natural and purified OVA. Paired antibodies (two pairs in total) were screened using a double-antibody sandwich ELISA platform. No cross-reactivity was observed with bovine serum, human serum albumin, rabbit serum, or horse serum, demonstrating good specificity. These antibodies can be provided as raw materials for research and development to immunological diagnostic reagent companies or vaccine manufacturers.
Paired antibody 1: Detection sensitivity up to 1 ng/ml, exhibiting a linear relationship in the range of 2-16 ng/ml (Fig. 1).

Paired antibody 2: Detection sensitivity up to 8 ng/ml, exhibiting a linear relationship in the range of 8-64 ng/ml (Fig. 2).
