Japanese Cedar Pollen Allergen 1 (Cry j 1) 

The Japanese cedar pollen allergen (Cryptomeria japonica, Cry j) is one of the most significant causes of allergic diseases worldwide. To date, several allergenic components have been isolated, purified, and identified, including Cry j 1, Cry j 2, Cry j 3, CJP-6, CJP-4, CJP-8, and CPA9. Some of these allergenic proteins exhibit multiple isoforms, contributing to the considerable complexity of the allergen composition. Among them, Cry j 1 and Cry j 2 are widely recognized as the principal allergenic components of Japanese cedar pollen. In addition, Cry j 1 serves as an important target for evaluating the anti-pollen performance of textiles.

This assay kit employs Cry j 1 as the target analyte, utilizing an anti–Cry j 1 antibody as the capture antibody coated onto a microplate, and an HRP-conjugated anti–Cry j 1 antibody as the detection antibody, thereby establishing a double-antibody sandwich ELISA system. The concentration of Cry j 1 in samples is determined by fitting the measured values to a standard calibration curve, enabling accurate quantification in biological specimens. The detection sensitivity of this kit reaches as low as 0.1 ng/mL (Fig).
